The happenings of the last few days
We had been busy recently
Our new printer has been printing for months without any problem, so it was quite unexpected when suddenly it started to print in a very low quality. We think the problem is the cooling. We changed a few small things within the cooling department, we will see the result soon. At least we hope - we will be back to it in a minute.
As we wrote about it we broke the hotendThis is where the plastic actually melted. It is part of the extruder which contains the pusher and the barrel as well. on our old printer. The new, full metal one arrived last week. It was not easy to install it. We had to completely disassemble the carriage and then assemble it again and of course the Z home point was different with the old hotendThis is where the plastic actually melted. It is part of the extruder which contains the pusher and the barrel as well. so we had to set it again. Even the fan of the hotendThis is where the plastic actually melted. It is part of the extruder which contains the pusher and the barrel as well. had to be repositioned.
To be honest we were a bit surprised when it worked on the first try! However, it seems the long time when we didn't use the printer has caused problems: the Y axis shifts again. We will take care of that soon with a full cleaning of the elektronic system.
And now we had an accident with our new printer too. The z-leadscrew caught the wires of the X endstop starting a print. Unfortunately the time we realized it the damage has been done: the force simply tored the endstop into pieces. Now we try to buy a new endstop in a local store, because if we have to order it from abroad we have to wait for several weeks for the spare part and we don't have a working printer right now.
